Vreau sa-mi schimb pana in Februarie jantele si am ales modelul MAK S5 pe 17", 7,5J, ET35.
Cauciucuri vreau sa-i pun 215-40-17.
Are cineva dimensiunile astea la cauciucuri ?

succes si asteptam poze Very Happy

Alloy Wheels Guide

Q. What tyre size should I use when changing my wheels?

When fitting larger wheels it is important to choose your tyre sizes carefully in order to keep as close as possible to the original tyre diameter. Failure to do this will change the overall gearing between engine revs and road speed and will cause the speedometer to read incorrectly. Making extreme changes may also affect the handling of the car.

Below I have compiled a chart of theoretical overall tyre diameters for different tyre and wheel sizes. I say "theoretical" because other factors such as the amount of remaining tread and tyre 'squash' due to the weight of the car all play a part in changing the effective diameter of the tyre. However, for the purposes of this exercise you can ignore these factors.

If you are considering changing the wheel and/or tyre sizes on your car, you should check the factory standard size for your car model in Table 1 below against the sizes in Table 2 to find the best match for your desired wheel size.

Try to avoid fitting tyres that are MUCH wider than the originals unless you really know what you are doing. As a guide, try to keep to no more than 10mm wider than standard, 20mm wider IF YOU MUST, though you may have trouble with the tyres catching on the wheel arches.

You will probably not find a tyre that is exactly the same diameter as the original. However, you should be able to get within 2% of the original diameter (and within 1% if you're lucky). Table 1 lists diameters between -2% and +2% to help you with your comparisons. Try to pick a tyre that is within 1% of the original size if you can, though it is quite acceptable to be within 2%.

A tyre with a LARGER diameter will make your speedometer read LOWER and will effectively raise the gearing (ie you will be in a slightly higher gear). A smaller diameter tyre will have the opposite effect.

Table 1 - standard sizes

calibra model standard tyre diameter -2% -1% +1% +2%
Early 8V 195/60 R14 590 578 584 596 602
Late 8V 205/55 R15 607 595 601 613 619
16V / V6 205/55 R15 607 595 601 613 619
Turbo 205/50 R16 611 599 605 617 623

Note: early 8 valve models were fitted with 14 inch steel wheels. As far as I know, later 8 valve models were fitted with 15 inch alloy wheels. I would like confirmation of this - I would also like confirmation that I have the V6 and Turbo sizes correct, though I'm pretty sure I have.

Note: Check with the tyre supplier which rim width a particular tyre needs. For example, a 205 tyre will probably sit quite happily on a 7.5" wide wheel rim but a 225 tyre would probably be better on an 8" wide wheel rim.

Table 2 - alternative sizes The below values are sorted by tyre diameter.

wheel
size ... tyre
diameter .....diameter

16" 205/40 570
215/40 578
195/45 582
225/40 586
205/45 591
235/40 594

17" 195/40 588
205/40 596
214/40 604
195/45 607
225/40 612
205/45 616
235/40 620

18" 195/35 594
205/35 601
215/35 608
195/40 613
225/35 615
